Berliner Slang of the Quarter! 💰

      - Wer bezahlt die Currywurst?

         (Who pays for the currywurst?)

      - Ick hab keine Kröten. Kannst du mir was     leihen?

(I don't have any cash. Can you lend me some?)

In Standard German, Kröten means “toads.” But in Berlin, along with its formal meaning, Kröten also refers to money, especially in small amounts.
